![]() Virtual Academy We realize that not all students thrive in a traditional "brick and mortar" setting. The Port Allegany School district has made a commitment to provide an additional instructional model with the addition of our Virtual Academy. The Port Allegany Virtual Academy has gathered the established and dedicated professionals, administrative staff, and resources of the district, and will assist those students and families who choose education through hands-on and online learning. Enrolling in our academy will allow you and your child to receive all of the benefits of a public school education using an instructional style with which you are comfortable. ![]() Enrollment in Port Allegany Virtual Academy is quick and easy! Simply download and complete the enrollment form. Upon completion, please contact Ms. Erika Emerick to schedule an appointment to discuss the registration process, review any specific needs the student may have, and prepare for the student to transition into the Port Allegany Virtual Academy program. Students are also required to show their work on all math coursework, so our teachers can verify their understanding of the material. Platform ![]() Attendance Communication In addition to homeroom, students have the opportunity to meet with their core content-area teachers in the virtual classroom. Students may either stop by the virtual classroom during the open office hours sessions that take place on Monday through Friday or schedule an appointment with their teacher ahead of time. These sessions enable students to ask specific questions about their coursework and receive one-on-one assistance. Our teachers use the webcam, microphone, and whiteboard to make the classroom “come alive” and deliver the same type of experience as if the teacher and student were face-to-face. Attendance and Performance Reporting - Awareness is vital to the success of students in Port Allegany Virtual Academy. With that in mind, we offer a variety of reports to students and parents/guardians:
